Geographic Context
Boulder, Colorado is located in the Rocky Mountain Region of the United States of America. Boulder is a city within Boulder County, in the state of Colorado. The city is in close proximity to the state capital (Denver), which is about 30 miles from each city center. It contains nearly 25 square miles of land and the western portion of the city is surrounded by preserved lands. It sits roughly 5,400 feet above sea level, which provides moderate temperatures, minimal humidity, and "an average of 300 sunny days per year and beautiful scenery" (11).
